We have been trying out some of the different lessons in the Sittion Spelling
Program. This is new for our classroom this year. We have learned how spelling is tied into many English skills.
Each week we look at a new spelling rule, but also at a skill to help us be better writers. The words we are studying
are words we use in our everyday writing, so it is really important for us to practice. Proofreading our work is another
skill we are working on. Check in each week to see our new list of words and to find out what skill we are working on
in English.
Spelling List
May 12 - June 3
In English we are working on paragraphs and doing some more
editing work with their animal reports. Students will begin to work on their autobiographies.
Beginning this week we will no longer have an organized spelling list or a
weekly test. For the remainder of the school year, students will be working more on the writing process and I will be
grading their spelling within their writing pieces.
